Sources
- Temperatures, rain and frost: GHCN-Daily records 1991–2020 for the four stations, from NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information. Averages, ranges and holiday odds all come from these daily records, so they agree with each other.
- Sunshine: WMO Climate Normals 1991–2020 for the same stations.
- Sea temperature: NOAA Coral Reef Watch CoralTemp v3.1, monthly means 1991–2020 on a 5 km grid, just offshore.
- Daylight and sunset: astronomical calculation for the 15th of each month. The Canary Islands keep the same clock as the UK all year.

How to read it
- A wet day has 1 mm of rain or more, the standard the WMO and the Met Office use. Any rain at all counts days with 0.1 mm or more, which is why some sites quote more rainy days.
- Most days means the middle 80% of daily readings, from the 10th to the 90th percentile.
- A dry week is seven days in a row without a wet day. We count every start date within a week of yours, in each year from 1991 to 2020.
- South-coast figures come from Tenerife South airport, about 15 km east of Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje. The airport sits next to El Médano, one of the windiest spots on the island, so we don't show wind.
- The official WMO normals run warmer than the daily records at the south airport (by 0.1–0.8 °C, most in winter) and in Santa Cruz (by 0.3–0.5 °C). We use the daily records throughout.
- Puerto de la Cruz and the rest of the north coast have no public 30-year station record in these datasets.
- Photos come from the Weathershot community, taken on location in that month in past years; photos from the neighbouring islands are marked “nearby”.
